Ink pours and extremely thick, gestural strokes forming a craggy, twisted tree trunk, with light, grey, textured strokes representing branches, alongside two small birds composed of finger marks and thin scratched lines, and columns of calligraphic forms in the manner of Chinese ink. Painted using the artist's hands and, possibly, a very large homemade brush.

Foxing. Craquelure. Serious mould, causing buckling. Bits of the paper surface flaking off, possibly due to mould. Creases at the corners. Brown stains on the back from the medium used seeping through the paper.
