Thick, impasto black paint applied to a vivid red background and blended in with brushes towards the left of the composition, forming a gradient, with gestural strokes, paint drips, and splatters applied directly to the right half of the canvas using the artist’s hands and fingers. The sides of the canvas are painted black.

Craquelure. Small areas of black paint have chipped off. Lizard droppings on the surface of the work. Small white spots. Horizontal tear near the top edge which has been mended with a piece of fabric attached to the back of the canvas. Tear near the top right corner. Dust and dirt.
