Description
-
This mixed media artwork consists of a concrete poem inscribed on a canvas board using a felt-tip pen. Here, the artist uses the word "blood" (เลือด) as a recurring visual motif, forming the numeral "6"— an allusion to the massacre of protestors at Thammasat University and Sanam Luang on 6 October 1976. The concrete poem is inscribed on a canvas board which is affixed to a larger board plastered over with printed poems. Most of the poems belong to the collection titled "Mother and Child" (แม่กับลูก). Affixed below the "6" is a small paper fragment with the artist's name and the year 1971 (๒๕๑๔) printed on it.

Serious insect damage across the entire work. Likely caused by termites. Tide lines and dirt along the bottom edge. Lizard droppings. Holes at the bottom left corner of the canvas, which is marred by tiny brown spots. Serious foxing (printed poems). Insect remains stuck along the edges of the canvas board. Damage at the top left and top right corners of the work. Pieces of fabric have been glued to the reverse so that it could be hung, leaving glue stains dripping down the reverse.
