Description
-
Words referring to the ruling class—including "autocrats" or "political elites" (ศักดินากลุ่มอิทธิพล), "military warlords" or "soldiers" (ขุนศึก ทหาร), and "capitalists" (นายทุน)—are composed in the form of the stacked offering bowls at the centre of the Democracy Monument, while other parts of the monument are formed by the word "merchant" (พ่อค้า). The image of the monument is tilted at an angle, such that it appears to be collapsing upon and crushing rows of the repeated phrase "poor people" (คนยากจน). Inscribed in purple.
