Description
-
This semi-abstract self-portrait consists of an extreme close-up of the lower half of the artist's face painted in broad, sweeping, fluorescent red, blue, and black brushstrokes. Square and circular motifs bearing the artist's name (壮) are superimposed over the image in two vivid, fluorescent red columns, recalling the appearance of Chinese seals; layered over parts of the composition are slender, calligraphic, black brushstrokes and trails of splattered paint.
