In this abstract, gestural painting, thick handfuls of white paint are slathered and smeared over a solid, black backdrop in broad, controlled, primarily horizontal and vertical strokes, forming a large, blockish shape. As a painterly tool, the artist's body comes into direct contact with the medium. Parallel grooves bear witness to the gestural movements of his fingers.

The left and right edges of the canvas have pulled away from the stretcher, leaving holes where the canvas was previously nailed into the stretcher. Craquelure. Long, vertical, brown liquid stains.
