In this semi-abstract self-portrait, the artist faces the viewer directly with his torso unclothed. Short, broken hatch lines painted using a thin, fine brush describe the contours of his figure. His eye sockets are left empty and parts of the image remain partially delineated, creating a sense of indeterminacy.

Discolouration; canvas appears brownish yellow. Brown stains, especially along the edges. Some stains around the brushstrokes due to the oils (or other constituents) in the medium used seeping through the canvas. Dust and dirt.
