Description
-
A looped, calligraphic form composed of heavy, impasto handfuls of paint heaped onto and smeared over the canvas in forceful sweeping, curvilinear strokes applied using the artist's hands and body, against a light-coloured backdrop covered in thick, viscous daubs of paint. Streaks of black paint have been flung, dripped, and splattered over the surface of the canvas.

Condition
-
Serious craquelure. Large chunks of paint flaking and peeling off. Handle with care. Tears at the top left and top right corners of the work due to the canvas pulling away from the stretcher. Small tears and holes within the work. Serious buckling and sagging. Damage along the edges of the canvas, possibly due to being stacked together with other works. The cracked surface reveals another painting in blue and red hidden beneath the surface. Dust and dirt. Serious discolouration. Holes along the edges, where the canvas was nailed to the stretcher. Nails are rusty.
