Bits of a brown substance stuck near the centre of the image. Dust and dirt. Pale brown stains around some strokes; likely caused by the oils in the medium seeping through the canvas. Some traces of blue paint which may be part of the work. Scratches along the edges of the work. A tear at the top left corner. Holes along the left side of the canvas. A tiny hole, possibly caused by an insect, near the bottom right corner. Some faint brown stains on the reverse. The nails used to secure the canvas to the frame have rusted, causing discolouration.
