Description

Composed of briefly blended brushstrokes applied wet-on-wet, giving the image a luminous depth, this semi-abstract landscape depicts wooden houses in a neighbourhood surrounded by tall palm trees. The cropped composition and the horizontal ledge along the lower edge of the image suggest that it was pictured through the window of an adjacent house. The colour palette is predominantly green, blue, and yellow, with touches of red and white.

Covered in a layer of brown dust and dirt. Craquelure. Canvas has been remounted and stapled onto a new stretcher. Holes along the edges of the canvas, on the reverse, where it was previously nailed onto the stretcher. In good condition.
