An abstract, gestural painting nearly completely covered in thick, impasto handfuls of black paint. Coagulated, granular chunks of paint are moulded upon the surface of the canvas, which is marked by uneven, erratic daubs and patches, giving the work an almost sculptural character. Touches of white and reddish-orange paint have been mixed into the black.

Discolouration; white paint appears yellowish. Serious craquelure. The paint is peeling and has chipped off in several areas, especially along the top edge. Serious buckling and sagging. A small tear at the top left corner. Insect embedded within the work. Dust, dirt, and insect droppings. Faint white liquid stains dripping down the work. Part of the canvas appears to be detaching from the stretcher at the top right corner.
