This abstract, gestural painting consists of broad, sweeping, impasto strokes and thinner lines of black paint smeared, using the artist's hands and fingers, over a still-wet, light-coloured background. The background, which is predominantly white, appears to have been painted over a layer of black, giving it a cloudy, murky appearance.

Discolouration. Light brown or ochre stains near the centre of the work. Serious craquelure, especially along the edges; stains on the reverse which correspond to the cracks. Tears at the top right and bottom right corners. Serious paint chips; large parts of the work at risk of flaking off. Handle with care. Animal droppings.
