Handfuls of thick, heavy black paint are applied over a still-wet, light-coloured backdrop marked by murky, grey patches. With parallel lines etched, using the artist's fingers, into impasto, intersecting strokes characterised by sharp turns and sudden shifts in trajectory, the painterly surface takes on an almost sculptural character, bearing witness to the artist's forceful, vigorous movements.

Serious craquelure. Paint flaking. Handle with care. Tears at the corners and along the edges, where the canvas was nailed into the frame. Insect droppings. A small brown substance stuck near the centre of the work. Buckling and sagging due to the weight of the frame.
