Black and white paint smeared over a white background in gradual, controlled strokes, using a broad brush and possibly the artist's hands. Parts of the composition appear to have been painted with an emulsion; dispersed, black paint spots suspended in an immiscible liquid add to the lively, textured surface of the painting, which is marked by parallel, finger-painted lines, small daubs of paint, and splatters.

Slight discolouration. Canvas has been remounted onto a new stretcher and cleaned. Brown spots around some strokes of paint and stains on the reverse due to the medium used seeping through the canvas.
