With broad, controlled strokes painted using a large, spongelike tool, the work depicts the Chinese character for "wealth" or "abundance" (富) in seal script (篆书), with small daubs of ink applied using the artist's fingers.

Signed and dated "1982". The digit "2" appears to have been written over "3". Numbered "0147".

Condition

Foxing. Tiny tears at the top right corner. Insect stuck to the work. Stains on the reverse due to the medium used seeping through the paper. Tape on the reverse. The frame appears to have been cut to size along the left edge, which is creased. Bits of the glossy surface flaking off along the top edge of the frame. Work detached from frame.
