Painted in broad, controlled, jointed strokes using a large, unconventional tool is a calligraphic form resembling the word "fire" (火). Small daubs of ink and thin strokes have been added to it, possibly using the artist's fingers.

Foxing. Stains on the reverse due to the medium used seeping through the paper. Tape on the reverse. Detached from frame. Frame appears to have been cut to size along the right edge, which is creased.
