Painted in a semi-abstract, semi-realistic style characterised by unblended watercolour washes, rapidly sketched brushstrokes, and a colour palette consisting primarily of blue, green, and brown, with touches of yellow and orange.

Signed "壮作" at the bottom right corner of the work. The artist's signature and an inscription which indicates that the work was executed for practice ("壮習作") on the reverse. Dated "4.25.1959" on the reverse.

Foxing. Creases at the corners and along the right edge. A vertical crease extending upwards from the bottom edge. Pencil lines visible beneath the paint. Bits of paper and brown paper triangles adhered to the back of the work. Paper appears to have been cut to size along the top and bottom edges. Abrasions on the reverse. Tide lines (clearly visible on the reverse).
