Composed of quick, gestural strokes, thin, vertical lines, daubs of ink, and clusters of thin, pseudo-calligraphic marks and scribbles, the painting depicts various types of plants in a concise, deliberately naive style characteristic of Zen Buddhist art. The painting is mounted on patterned paper, in the manner of a Chinese scroll.
