The poem consists of two stanzas, which portray a child standing and watching the light. The first stanza, however, refers to "today's sunlight" (แสงแดดวันนี้), while the second stanza refers to "yesterday's sunlight" (แสงแดดเมื่อวาน). The poem ends with a rhetorical question, which evokes the passage of time: "Where is yesterday's sunlight today?"
