Rows of the name "Sarit" (สฤษฎ์ [สฤษดิ์]) in the form of a simplified silhouette symbolising the palm-leaf manuscript box, the stacked offering bowls, and the round turret at the centre of the Democracy Monument. Inscribed below the image is the phrase "execution by shooting" (ยิงเป้า). The name refers to Sarit Thanarat, who was the commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Army and later, the prime minister of Thailand from 9 February 1959 to 8 December 1963.
