Rows of the name "Phao" (เผ่า) in the form of a simplified silhouette symbolising the palm-leaf manuscript box, the stacked offering bowls, and the round turret at the centre of the Democracy Monument. Inscribed below the image is the phrase "Thai police" (ตำรวจไทย). The name refers to Phao Siyanon, the director general of the Royal Thai police under the regime of Plaek Phibunsongkhram.
