Description
-
A poem in red which evokes the cold and hunger felt by the artist by attributing these experiences to parts of nature. The poem is followed by densely packed rows of the repeated word "rice plants" (ต้นข้าว), conveying a sense of irony as the people continue to starve despite an abundance of resources.
The poem reads:
Sunlight is cold, dewdrops are cold; they lie on the grass
Sunlight is hungry, dewdrops are hungry; they lie down and wait while starving
The sky is hungry, the sunlight is hungry, the sun is hungry too
The land is hungry, the grass is hungry, the rice plants are hungry too
