Vigorous, dynamic scribbles sketched by sweeping a stick of charcoal or a soft pencil back and forth in repetitive, diagonal strokes, forming a close-up of the artist's face, including his characteristic moustache. The artist's eyes, however, are left blank and his mouth is eliminated from the self-portrait. At the bottom right corner of the work is a fingerprint.
