A close-up, semi-abstract image of the artist's facial features, rendered in short, broken, gestural brushstrokes and dots, with areas of negative space forming highlights along the artist's nose bridge and accentuating the whites of his wide-open eyes. Long, layered, tapered curves represent his eyebrows and moustache. Possibly a self-portrait as Bodhidharma.

Foxing. Serious mould. Tiny white spots. Light crease and a tiny tear at the bottom left corner. Scratches. Tide lines at the top right corner. Insect droppings near the top right corner. Very slight damage at the bottom right corner. Tiny pin holes at the corners. Tape on the reverse.
