Description

A field of dense vegetation formed by daubs of colour applied in layers; some of these strokes were applied wet on-wet, while others were left unblended. Slender, spontaneous lines represent tall palm trees, while a strip of negative space evokes a path leading through the field. Painted in green, blue, and black, with touches of orange-brown.

Foxing. Creases at the corners and along the top and right edges. Tears along the edges; the tear along the bottom edge appears to have been repaired. Buckling. Stains on the reverse due to the medium used seeping through the paper. Medium rubs off upon contact. Abrasions caused by the paper disintegrating while wet paint was applied.
