A semi-abstract landscape composed of brief, succinct lines and daubs evoking houses in the distance; broad, sweeping, vertical strokes forming the trunk of a large tree in the foreground; daubs of paint quickly and forcefully slathered onto the work, leaving splatters or dry brush textures; and slender, tapered brushstrokes applied wet-on-wet, representing tall grasses in the foreground. Painted primarily in black, with touches of brown.
