Description
-
A colourful, layered, semi-abstract painting of a toad composed of brief, broken, unblended strokes and paint daubs applied in quick, gestural movements using a medium-sized brush, forming tonal gradations via the technique of optical mixing. Vertical and horizontal strokes fill the background, evoking shadows and a sense of three-dimensional space. Painted in red, fluorescent orange, yellow, green, and blue. Pseudo-calligraphic forms are vaguely visible to the left of the composition.
