A semi-realistic, frontal self-portrait framed up close. Brief, broken, slender brushstrokes are stippled over the centre of the artist's face in contrasting colours, creating an effect of depth via the technique of optical mixing. The artist's hair and moustache are represented by textured, wavy, and sometimes split gestural brushstrokes of varying line weights. Painted in shades of red, amber, blue, and black.
