A simplified, stylised portrait of Bodhidharma, the first patriarch of Chan Buddhism in China, painted in an exaggerated, caricatural style, with his eyebrows, beard, and moustache represented by short, dry brushstrokes and textured splotches of ink slathered forcefully onto the paper, leaving splatters and drips.
