Crosses line the left edge of the composition, while crescent-shaped motifs and gestural strokes are composed in columns to the right. The phrase "the 12 āyatanas" (อายตนะ 12) appears above the yin yang symbol; below it are the words "impermanence" (อนิจจัง), "suffering" (ทุกขัง), and "non-self" (อนัตตา).
