Description
-
A naturalistically proportioned portrait of the artist Paul Cézanne drawn in broad, confident strokes and filled in with unidirectional hatch lines. Lightly sketched grid lines suggest that the artist was replicating a preexisting image, likely Cezanne's Self Portrait (c. 1880-1), which is currently in the collection of The National Gallery, London.
