Thick, impasto, lumpy handfuls of black paint, applied to the canvas with the artist’s fingers, with red paint overlapping the black and filling the negative spaces around it. Canvas made from two pieces of fabric stitched together.

Remounted. Craquelure. Tears along the left edge where the canvas has been affixed to the frame. Some dust and dirt on the surface of the painting. Unpainted areas of the canvas appear brown.
